I finally got around to including an entry page for a guestbook, so please take a minute or two to give us your thoughts. It’s the standard thing that every personal website must have, so why not keep up with the Jones or the Walshes for that matter?

So, it’s now 3:00am and I have a sleeping baby on my chest as I type this. About 15 minutes ago she finished her late night snack then screamed bloody murder as we changed a very loaded diaper. Now she is the happiest girl in the world. Come to think of it, I am pretty happy to have her “helping” me…

That’s it for now, no pictures at the moment, maybe we’ll get some new ones up during the day!!

Yes It Does…

And it keeps happening. (Look at the picture to get it.) Part of being a baby I guess. The good thing she usually nods off after it happens.

Thanks to Aunt Michelle for the bib!!

Well, as of 3:01pm today Sarah is 1 week old! Yay!! And Mommy and Daddy are 1 week exhausted. She has ran us ragged, but in a really good way. At some point we will will get the hang of this night and day thing. Well, we have the hang of it, but Sarah seems to be a late night girl.

Also thanks to Grandma for pink roses and daisies and Aunt Karen for the pink roses!! They both are such beautiful flowers and they look and smell great!

There are a few more pictures up on Baby – Page 3 of, who else, Sarah.

Baby Joins The Pack

2004-08-19 (007).jpgOne of the most unusual things through all of this, has been our dog, Sonya’s reaction towards the baby. When we 1st came home from the hospital Sonya was allowed the obligatory 1st sniff of the baby and that was about it.

Now that she has been home for sometime, the dog has become protective of her. On at least 2 occasions when Sarah was crying and we were trying to be strong parents and not rush to her, Sonya would go over near the baby, come back to us and bark at us. I think she was either trying to tell us to go help the baby or to shut her up.

Also, one time we were in the bedroom changing Sarah and she was crying up a storm. (This kid does not like to be naked!) Sonya was outside the door and was so concerned she hit the door with her head or paw to be let in. Once I opened the door, she had to have a look and see what was going on. Pretty neat.

I think Sonya is extending the “pack” to include the baby in it. Maybe this means they will become great friends as Sarah grows up.

Eat, Poop, Sleep… Repeat

2004-08-18 (006).jpgThis has been our mantra the past few days, doesn’t seem we get to do too much else. Saying I am tired doesn’t even begin to explain it. If Sarah could talk in that picture, she would probably be saying, “Whoa is me!” Being 4 days old is tough work, especially when you are a very gassy little kid. (Burping or farting are the only 2 things that put a smile on her face right now.) Click on her picture for more images!!

This morning, Sarah wouldn’t settle down after her feeding so I let her sleep on my chest for a while. She nuzzled into my t-shirt and grabbed hold of my collar. It was such a wonderful feeling. Once she zonked out, it was back to the bassinet so I could try to sleep.

Today was a tough day. Mom had to go the Dr. because she was in way too much pain than she should be in. So, it was Sarah’s 1st trip to the Dr. as well!! She cried and mom had to feed her in the exam room, then she was happy again. The Dr. gave Mom some stuff to make her loopy and all is well again.

One thing we found out is that Sarah likes to ride in the car, especially the way Daddy drives. (I instinctively hit every single bump in the road.) She was out in about 5 minutes and didn’t wake up the whole ride.

I have some more pictures from the past couple days to see, they are on Baby – Page 3. You can also get to all of the baby pictures as well as other pictures I have taken by going to the Photos page as well.

Baby Day +1

2004-08-15 (022).jpg this picture doesn’t make you melt, I have no idea what will. Sometimes candid moments turn a photograph into a portrait. (I have gotten very lucky on few occasions, this is one of them.)

I have put some more pictures online of baby and mom. Today, even I get in some of the pictures and you can see that Sarah’s daddy is in love too!! Yes, Dana was able to put Sarah down long enough to take a few pictures of me holding her.

Mom and baby are doing great and everything is perfect in our world right now. We are so happy to share this special time in our lives through these pictures with you.
