2008 Pictures
January 2008

Notes from Janaury 2008's pictures:

  • A surprisingly mild day made for a rare winter's chance to play at the playground.
  • We also have some pictures of Sarah surfing on Daddy's laptop, err, her laptop.

February 2008

Notes from February 2008's pictures:

  • Hey there, Cinderella! When a 4 year old asks to do the dishes of course you say yes. Until you see the gigantic mess of water and bubbles she makes! That may have been her plan all along.
  • Snow! Finally the snowstorm Sarah has been wating for since October! Sarah made a very large snowman and decorated it nicely. Thankfully it was a wet & heavy snow good for packing, not so good for shoveling. We had to get Sarah in the house before she became too much of a snotball out there in the cold.

April 2008

Notes from April 2008's pictures:

  • An early spring trip down to the Point Pleasant boardwalk makes up the bulk of the April 2008 pictures. Personally I think clowns are creepy but Sarah does not seem to mind them.

May 2008

Notes from May 2008's pictures:

  • Mother's Day at the boardwalk with a huge pile of nachos and finally Sarah started to enjoy riding the carousels. (No Midway Steakhouse this time but I took a picture anyway)
  • Some fun on the playground as well.
  • May is early in the spring and thoughts of post season baseball were in air when we spent a chilly evening in the Bronx for Sarah's 1st Yankee game! We wanted her to be able to see the old Yankee Stadium before the new one opens next year.
  • With some 9th inning heroics the Yankees pulled out a 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
  • Sarah ate the entire time: popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, cookies and so on.

There's some good pictures of Jeter, A-Rod and Mo as well as a pic of Sarah with a NYC police officer.

June 2008

Notes from June 2008's pictures:

  • Most of the pictures from June are from the McGuire Air Force Base airshow. There’s a bunch of planes: B-52, F-15, F-16, F-4U, B-17, etc. (It was a military alphabet soup!) as well as the Air Force’s own Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squad and some pictures of Sarah running ragged on the runway as well.
  • Sarah started Tae Kwon Do, yes Tae Kwon Do, in June at the Full Circle DoJang and she felt the need to test out some of her new moves.
  • Of course there are some more pictures from a playground within bike riding distance for Daddy and do you see the rabbit?

July 2008

Notes from July 2008's pictures:

  • Miniature golf on Mommy's birthday sounded like a good idea but after 4 of a scheduled 18 holes Sarah wasn't so amused or enthused.
  • Sarah's new Karate gi provided an opportunity for Daddy to force Sarah into some stances and poses outside in the yard.
  • "What the hail is going on?" A rare Summer hail storm had Sarah get prepared for a power outage by donning her battery powered headlight, just in case.
  • A day out in the summer sun found us venturing over to the Keansburg Amusement Park for some rides, games and treats. Seeing Pac Man painted on an arcade wall brings back memories and reminds you just how old you really are!

August 2008

Notes from August 2008's pictures:

  • Our little kinderkick continues to work really hard in what appears to be one-on-one sessions at Full Circle DoJang with Mr. Jackson.
  • Nothing puts a smile on kids face like opening birthday presents!
  • Sarah earned her 2nd stripe at Tae Kwon Do in August.
  • We went back to Full Circle DoJang for Sarah's 4th birthday party! Small children... running... everywhere!
  • Sarah played with her Legos in the tub, had fun at the playground and helped Daddy launch some model rockets into space ...and then watched them land in the trees!

September 2008

Notes from September 2008's pictures:

  • Back To School! Sarah was all revved up for another year of preschool at the beginning of September.
  • She found time for a friend's birthday party and made some early Halloween cookies as well.
  • Our puppy, Carly, sat still long enough for a few pictures and Sarah even took a bath before the month was over!

October 2008

Notes from October's 2008 pictures:

  • Pumpkins Everywhere! We took our annual trip to Eastmont Orchards for pumpkin and apple picking. Sarah only ate 1 apple while we were there, honest.
  • Sarah ran around in her cowboy and had the worst blister ever! (For a 4 year old)
  • We spent a warm mid October day down at Seaside with Uncle John & Tyler! One final visit to Midway Steakhouse before the winter. Tyler even won Sarah a stuffed duck and rode the carousel with her.
  • The fire department came to Sarah's school and showed the kids all the equipment they wear and use. Sarah even got to go into the fire engine!
  • Daddy's birthday snuck in at the end of October. Sarah and Mommy baked a cake for Daddy, it was delicious!
  • Before we knew it Halloween was here and two witches prowled the Jersey Shore looking for candy!

November 2008

Notes from November 2008's pictures:

  • Here are some pictures of a 4 year old ringer playing video games. She has the whole, "I'm cute" thing going for her and while you are put off by Sarah's diminutive size and eyelash batting she puts you down for the count. Apparently mercy really is for the weak.
  • There's a few pictures of Sarah helping out on Thanksgiving by setting the table and play some Guitar Hero with cousin Tyler while the adults laid about in a turkey-coma.

December 2008

Notes from December 2008's pictures:

  • December started off with a bang when Sarah's karate teacher, Mr. Jackson, from Full Cricle DoJang came to her Montessori school for a demonstration! I looked like all of the kids had a great time and Sarah was thrilled that Daddy was able to come and bring his camera.
  • Of course there are some Christmas Eve and Christmas Day pictures of a 4 year old, spoiled rotten, little girl getting more or less everything she wants from Gramma & Papa, Mommy & Daddy as well as the big guy in the red suit. IF you look closely there are some pictures of Sarah giving her "smile or your grounded" smile for the camera, she's very convincing.
  • Homer the cat couldn't believe the pile of toys Sarah had laid out before her with not a single catnip toy to be found!
